Barton County’s long term success has been on a strongly diversified
economic base and this continues to be the case today. Encompassing
major industry employers such as Epoch, Golden Business Forms, and
Thorco Industries to strong retail, combined with a solid agricultural
base we feel we are set up for success. Barton County is home to several
entrepreneurs that took a great idea and made it a successful national
business in Fast Eddies Hot Rods, Washburn Farm and Home, Standley
Composite and Milling and Versacourt International. These companies are
the model of what entrepreneurship can be and have helped Barton County
to continue to grow.
Here in Barton County, agriculture is our backbone and has been since
the late 1800s. Barton County has consecutively been one of the leaders
in crop production throughout the entire State of Missouri. With this
being one of our leading industries we have taken a big step in looking
at value added agriculture and new ways to increase the 90 million
dollars that the Agriculture Industry brought into our community just a
few short years ago. With renewable energy at the front of the new
business boom in this country, Barton County is ready and is looking
forward to being the leader in renewable energy as we have in crop
production in the State of Missouri.
Barton County is centrally located to the rest of America. With Interstate 49 running through the center of our
county we are able to reach major transportation intermodal in Kansas
City and Tulsa in about 2 hours. We are also located in one of the
largest distribution, warehousing, and logistic areas in the State of
Missouri. With Interstate 44 only 30 minutes south of us and three major
rail lines running through our county, having this type of
infrastructure located only minutes from your location we feel that we
are ready for the future needs of warehousing, distribution, and
logistic companies in this area and throughout the United States.
